Joe Tigert

Managing Partner, Joseph Tigert began his career in the insurance industry in 1988 as a career sales Agent. After spending several years as an Agent, Joe moved into the management field and served as a regional consultant.

In 1997, Joe joined New York Life as a Partner in the Albuquerque, New Mexico General Office. In 2001, he was promoted to Managing Partner of the Kansas General Office.

Joe is an enthusiastic graduate of the University of Arizona and he believes deeply in stewardship to his community and the insurance industry. This belief is reflected in the various community boards he has served. Joe is the President of the the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors State chapter. He also serves on several groups that promote the economic growth in Wichita. Joe is the Vice President of Downtown Wichita, a member of the Greater Wichita Partnership, and a member of the Riverfront Legacy Master Plan Coalition.

New York Life, Joe and his management team are rooted solidly in providing excellence in Agent training. Such beliefs have launched many successful careers and have provided our clients with excellence in service and the highest standard of professionalism.

Joe and his wife, Sheila, reside in Wichita and are proud to call Kansas home. In addition to his duties as a Managing Partner, Joe is an avid pickle ball player and sports enthusiast. Joe and Sheila have three children, Steven, Alexa and Riley. When Joe is not working or playing pickle ball, he is busy chasing his five grandchildren around, Aaliyah (9), JoJo (3), Beckett (2), Harper and Kennedy (under 1).

As an agent and teacher, Troy believes preparation, organization, and creating relationships were vital components of the game.  In training new agents, he instills those same concepts. He doesn't believe in mediocrity or excuses.

Versatility when dealing with clients is vital.  Throughout training classes new agents learn to read and interpret non-verbal communication (body language and social styles). 

However, diligence is a trait that we will work tirelessly to instill in our agents so that we are always putting our clients/prospects first.

Troy has two children and is an avid sooner sports fan.

Chris Ross

Chris began her New York Life career in October of 1985 as the receptionist in the Oklahoma City General Office.  She subsequently worked in the Southern Missouri, Dallas and Oklahoma City General Offices.

Chris became an Office Manager of the newly opened Southern Missouri General Office in June 1998. She was then promoted to Assistant Administrative Manager in December 2000 in the Dallas General Office. Then in September 2002 was promoted to Administrative Manager of the Oklahoma City General Office.

Chris was then promoted to Service Leader of the Kansas General Office on May 14, 2018.

Chris has achieved her Fellowship, Life Management Institute (FLMI) through LOMA as well as her Associate in Customer Service (ACS), Associate in Agency Administration (AIAA) and Associate in Regulatory Administration (AIRC).

Chris has four children and 11 grandchildren, all of who reside in Oklahoma. She is an avid Buckeye fan (go BUCKS!) and motorcycle enthusiast.
